I think anyone who doesn't feel uncomfortable/icky during a rape scene in a movie has serious issues. Even when I just see heavily implied rape scenes (like in Sweeney Todd) I have to look away and get sick to my stomach. If I ever stop being this bothered by rape scenes, please someone take me out back and shoot me.
Well I’m not going to take you out back and shoot you :P
If you ever stop being bothered by rape scenes it will be because you are desensitized to them. That’s a consequence of constantly being exposed to something in your environment over and over again.
Same thing happens to me; there will be a story in the paper or something about the prevalence of sexual assault or some other issue, and everyone acts all baffled and i’m there just like

like this is where I say I told you so.
It’s really sad, eh?
