Combination of Retail Robin/Critical Feminist Corgi.
Let me just say, as someone who works in retail, I’m always a bit turned off by the clear gender divides we have. Our store separates our “girl” toys and “boy” toys with irritatingly pink and blue colored aisles. Though the kids’ bedding has a bit more variety… pink and purple for girls and every other color for boys. >:I
NOT only that, but I can’t help but notice that the section for males always comes BEFORE the section for women (except for clothes. Women’s clothes are the first thing you see in our store). I could just be paranoid, though…
Of course I’m speaking strictly about cis-genders here. I don’t know a single mainstream store in the US that doesn’t take into consideration non-cis-genders, or any LGBT person for that matter.
